When Do I Need Software for Transmitting Electronic Export Declarations (E-Dec)?
Since 2012, the Swiss Federal Customs Administration (FCA) has offered companies the option to submit import and export customs declarations electronically. The data for the export customs declaration is captured by the exporter and transmitted to the relevant customs office by the freight forwarder before crossing the border. After the release of this customs declaration, the exporter can retrieve and archive the electronic assessment decision (eVV) Export from the customs server. Import shipments are usually declared and processed by the freight forwarder at customs. The importer then receives the eVV from the freight forwarder or from their own ZAZ account.
The eVV is essential for both import and export; it ensures that the e-dec was used by the transport service provider. Swiss e-dec has a REST API interface that can be used independently of the ERP system. With the integrated module, it can be easily connected to large ERP solutions such as SAP or Microsoft NAV. Automated Data Archive
According to tax administration requirements, you must store the electronic assessment decision (eVV) for 10 years.
